Dear student.

Homozygous is a diploid condition in which the alleles at a particular gene locus are identical whether it be dominant or recessive.

When an individual has only one member of a chromosome pair rather than the usual two, in particular to X-linked genes in males who under usual circumstances have only one X chromosome from the mother is known as hemizygous condition.
