1. The internal resistance in a primary cell is higher than that in a secondary cell.

2. The primary cells provide current as a result of irreversible chemical reactions and so they are called use-and-throw type cells, whereas in secondary cells, the current is produced as a result of reversible chemical reactions, and so these cells can be recharged after every use.
