Differentiation of a body into smaller units and subunits which are arranged in an orderly manner is known as organisation. Due to the presence of the organisation, a living being is called an organism. The cell organelles form a cell which unites to form tissues. Tissues come together to form an organ and organs come together to form the organ system. Organ system eventually forms the whole organism.
Homeostasis is the maintenance of constant and favourable internal environmental conditions suitable for the functioning of body organs.
Metabolism is the sum total of all the reactions that are happening in a living organism. It includes catabolism and anabolism. It is a defining feature of the living organisms and it can’t be seen in non-living things.
The ability to be aware of the surroundings and give a response to the external stimuli is known as consciousness. Stimulus is a detectable change inside the organism or in its surroundings which is responsible for evoking a specific reaction.
