Solution

Step 1: At a restaurant, when a customer buys 4 pretzels, the fifth pretzel is free.

If you order 12 soft pretzels, so you will get 3 soft pretzels free and you have to pay for 12-3=9 pretzels only

Step 2: Cost of one pretzels =$3.90

Cost of 9 soft pretzels =$3.90×9=$35.1

Step 3: Mean cost per pretzels =35.112

Mean cost per pretzels =$2.925

Hence, Mean cost per pretzels =$2.925
