In diplospory egg apparatus is formed from the cells of nucellus without the involvement of mitotic division. Zygote is formed from egg without fertilization.

Development of embryo from gametophyte without fertilization is called apogamy.

Gametophyte formation from sporophyte without involving meiosis is called apospory.

Adventive embryony is the formation of embryo from nucellus or integument but not from gametophyte.
