Question

Direct rays of the sun fall on the equator on (i) 21 March (ii) 21 June (iii) 22 December

Solution

The direct rays of the sun fall on the equator only twice in the year. These two days include 21st March and 23rd September. Earth’s axis always points in the same direction. Because of this, the part of Earth that receives the most direct rays from the Sun changes as the Earth travels around the Sun
