Question

Direction(7-10): Read the instructions given and answer the questions that follow.

Ajay, Binod, Chaand, Durgesh, Ehshan, Fahim, and Ganesh are seven friends who have to fast on seven different days – Monday through Sunday not necessarily in the same order, starting with Monday.

(a) On each day, exactly one person will fast.
(b) Chaand has to fast just after Ganesh.
(c) Neither Ajay nor Binod can fast on Sunday, and exactly one person has to fast between them.
(d) Neither Binod nor Ehshan can fast on Wednesday, but Binod can fast only after Ehshan’s fast.
(e) Fahim can fast neither on Monday nor on Tuesday.
(f) Durgesh can fast either on Tuesday or on Thursday.

Common Solution :

Durgesh can fast either on Tuesday or on Thursday.
Fahim can fast neither on Monday nor on Tuesday.

Neither Binod nor Ehshan can fast on Wednesday, but Binod can fast only after Ehshan’s fast.

Fahim can fast neither on Monday nor on Tuesday.

Case 1: Durgesh fasts on Tuesday.

As Fahim cannot fast on Monday, Ehshan will fast on Monday. This is because neither Binod nor Ehshan can fast on Wednesday, and Binod can fast only after Ehshan’s fast.

Only Chaand or Fahim can fast on Sunday. However, Chaand has to fast on Sunday so that none of the conditions are violated.
