  1. The energy stored in chemical compounds such as the food we eat, coal, petrol, and in a cell or battery.
  2. For example, a cell and a battery have chemical energy stored in them. When they are connected with electrical equipment, the stored chemical energy is converted into electrical energy.
  3. Similarly, the chemical inside a firecracker has chemical energy stored in it.
  4. The fuels used in vehicles such as petrol, diesel, and CNG have chemical energy stored in them
