1) Using pre combustion techniques by changing the raw material:
There are certain raw materials that cause a lot of air pollution but they should be substituted with other raw material which cause less air pollution i.e. reduction in sulphur, dust, ash etc. The use of nuclear power and natural gas (CNG) is preferred so as to reduce atmospheric emission.
2) Using combustion modification techniques:
Changing the process of production reduce industrial emissions and thus lower the pollutants in the atmosphere. E.g. the emissions of sulphur-dioxide can be reduced from metallurgical industries by using low temperature hydro metallurgical techniques. Use of modern techniques in place of the traditional equipments in industrial processes. A lot of pollutants are emitted due to the lack of maintenance of equipment.
3) Using post combustion control techniques:
Use of various polltion control equipment's like gravitational setting chambers, electro static precipitator, cyclone separator to remove pollutants from fuel gases and vehicle exhausts.
