Discuss about the animals found in common aquatic habitats.
1. Oceans- Sea animals have streamlined bodies which help them to move easily in water. They also have gills which enable them to use oxygen that is dissolved in water. Dolphins and whales have nostrils or blowholes this allows them to breathe in air when they swim near the surface of water.
2. Ponds and lakes- The plants in these habitats have reduced roots and have long, hollow stems. Some aquatic plants are completely submerged in water. They have narrow and thin ribbon like leaves. Frogs live in ponds as well as on land. They have strong back legs that help them in leaping and catching their prey. They even have webbed feet to help them swim in water.
