Solution

Instructions: This question can be explained by giving the names of the important architectural buildings and then giving a detailed explanation of them individually. Also , the place where these buildings were discovered together with a short description must be given.

Solution: The Harappans marveled in their architectural style and designs. Some of the great architectures of the civilisation were the assembly hall, the granaries, the dockyard and the great bath.
The assembly hall at Mohenjo-daro was a large building with a big hall. The hall was supported by pillars, arranged in four rows of five pillars each.
The Granaries were used to store the surplus food grains. They have been found at Harappa, Mohenjo-daro, Lothal and Kalibangan, with the largest one at Mohenjo-daro.
The dockyard was discovered at Lothal and was used for carrying out overseas trade. It was connected to the Gulf of Cambay by channels and served as the important trading and manufacturing centre of the civilisation.
The Great Bath at Mohenjo-daro, the most elegant structure of the civilisation, was a huge rectangular tank with a flight of steps on the northern and southern sides, leading to the bottom of the tank. It is believed that the great bath was used on religious occasions for ritual bathing.
