Solution

Dear Student

Advantages of Solar Energy -
  • It is a free source of energy, although a cost is incurred on the building of solar powered 'equipment or collectors' to convert solar energy into hot water, food or electricity.
  • It does not lead to pollution.
  • It can be used in remote regions/areas where placement of electricity power grid is an expensive procedure
  • Daily use gadgets like calculators, low-power consuming devices, etc, can be charged effectively through solar energy
  • Solar energy reserves are infinitely available

Disadvantages of Solar Energy -
  • It can only be utilised during daytime or when the solar energy remains available
  • Manufacturing of solar collectors, panels and cells is an expensive process
  • Installation of solar devices requires large areas
  • Does not guarantee 100 percent efficiency in the output
  • All solar panels cannot work at night which makes us dependable on the solar energy. Also, if the solar panels due to any reason, does not get fully charged during the daytime then it reduces their performing efficiency.
