After winter, due to a lack of moisture in the soil, the trees shed their leaves. The leaves reappear during spring. These are called deciduous forests.
This kind of forest can be seen in areas receiving 60 to 120 centimetres of rainfall annually.
These forests are not very dense, unlike evergreen forests.
These forests are found in Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Chamrajnagar, eastern parts of Hassan, and more.
Teak, Kino, Mahogany, Neem, Mango, and others grow in plenty in deciduous forests.
