  • During the medieval period, new styles of architecture such as Dravida, Nagara, and Indo-Persian, were developed. A speciality of this age was the blending of different sculptural styles.
  • The painting style that came into vogue during the Mughal period was the miniature painting, or the style of drawing pictures like the pictures in books. It was a combination of both Indian and Persian styles. Mir Sayyid Ali and Abdu Samad developed the Mughal style of painting. Some of the prominent themes of these paintings were Indian subjects, natural scenes, and pictures of birds and animals. ​
  • Bishandas and Abul Hassan were the greatest painters of the period.
  • The wall paintings of that time were also remarkable. The wall paintings on the Tanjore Temple during the period of the Cholas were an important feature of the medieval paintings.
  • The Rajastani style was another style developed during this period. It was a combination of the traditional and Mughal painting styles.
