Solution

Communicable disease can be transferred by direct and indirect contact with the affected person. There are various means by which diseases spread from one person to another such as :-
  • Water borne diseases transmitted when excretions from an infected person containing casual microorganisms get mixed with drinking water. Consumption of this contaminated water leads to the spread of diseases. E.g, Cholera, Typhoid, Hepatitis A etc.
  • Direct physical contact between two people, which leads to the transfer of diseases like syphilis, gonorrhoea, AIDS etc.
  • Blood to blood contact established through blood transfusion, or during pregnancy and through breast feeding. AIDS is one diseases that spreads through sexual contact as well as blood contact.
