Land and sea breeze are dominant in coastal areas because of differential heating of land and sea.
This means there is a difference in temperatures of land and sea because land heats up and cools down faster compared to the sea.
During the day, land heats up quickly, and the temperature increases. High temperature means rise of warm air and the formation of a low-pressure zone over the land.
While air above the sea is comparatively cooler and this means higher pressure over the sea as compared to the land.
So this pressure difference leads to the formation of winds from the sea towards land, that is, higher pressure to low pressure and this is called sea breeze.
