Importance of turgor pressure in plants :
1. It maintains the shape of the cell.
2. It gives rigidity to the cells and maintains their structure
3. It is the basis of the opening and closing of stomata. When turgor pressure is high the stomatal pore opens and when the turgor pressure is low the stomatal pore closes.
