The various methods for weed control are
a) Preventive Control
Weed seed can be spread from neighbouring properties, adjacent road rights-of-way and trails.
b) Cultural Control
It Includes but is not limited to, mowing, burning, mulching, competitive planting, hand pulling, grazing, and cultivation.
c) Chemical control
The use of herbicides offers the only practical and selective method of managing certain weeds. Herbicide applications are usually cost-effective.
d) Biological control
Biological control can be used in an integrated weed management program.Biological control agents can reduce the vigour, size and competitiveness of weed infestations.
e)Mechanical method
Some weeds can be controlled or suppressed by mechanical means such as slashing and ploughing.
