R1=2Ω,R2=2Ω,R3=3Ω connected to a battery of emf 6V as shown . If the resistance of the voltmeter is 2Ω. Find the reading in the voltmeter

From given circuit -

Equivalent resistance =R=R1RvR1+Rv+R2+R3 where Rv=2Ω=resistance of voltmeter

R=2×22+2+2+3=6Ω

Current in circuit=I=ER=66=1A

Potential difference across combination of R1 and voltmeter is

V=I×1 since 1Ω is equivalent resistance of R1 and voltmeter

V=1V
