Dissociation of oxyhaemoglobin is more in an active tissue than in a less active one. Give reason.

An active tissue site has an increased partial pressure of carbon dioxide and reduced partial pressure of oxygen. Both these factors favor the dissociation of oxyhaemolobin at the site into deoxyhaemoglobin and molecular oxygen.
