34 units

When $y=5$
Distance=$(2y^2+y+2)$
$=2\times 5^2+5+2=50+5+2$
$=57units$
When $y=3$,
Distance=$(2y^2+y+2)$
$=2\times 3^2+3+2=18+3+2$
$=23units$
$\therefore$ Required difference = 57 – 23 = 34 units.
