Distance of chord from center $=8cm$.

$OC=8cm,AC=\frac{12}{2}=6cm$

In $△OAC$,

$O{A}^2=A{C}^2+O{C}^2$

$O{A}^2=(6{)}^2+(8{)}^2=36+64$

[ $OA=10cm$].

$\therefore$ Diameter of circle is $2\left(OA\right)=20cm$.
