Distinguish between Acquired and Inherited traits.

Acquired traits:
Result of variation in somatic cell.
These are acquired due to adaptation and effect of external environment on individual genome.
Acquired traits do not get transferred to progeny because of their somatic origin.
Inherited traits:
Occur due to genetic variation.
These are transferred from parent to progeny via germ cell.
Since, these occur in germ cell, hence these are transferred from generation to generation from parents to their progenies
