Distinguish between electric motor and electric generator
The following are the differences between an electric motor and an electric generator.
(1.) An electric motor converts electric energy into mechanical energy whilst an electric generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
(2) An electric motor gives out emf to the circuit and the electric generator gives emf to the load connected.
(3) An electric motor works on the principle of force on a current−carrying wire whereas an electrical generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
