Distinguish between evaporation and boiling.
Evaporation | Boiling |
1. It is the process in which the liquid state is changing into vapors (gaseous state) even below its boiling point. 2. It is considered a slow process. 3. It takes place at any temperature. 4. This can result in lowering the temperature. 5.No bubbles formed during this process. 6. For Example:- Drying clothes in the sun. |
1. It is the process in which a liquid turns into a vapor when it is heated to its boiling point. 2. It is considered a fast process. 3. This process takes place at a particular temperature i.e., when the vapor pressure of the substance equals atmospheric pressure. 4. In this process the temperature remains constant. 5. Bubbles formed during this process. 6. For Example:- Boiling milk.
