GlycolysisCitric acid cycle
It occurs in the cytoplasm.It occurs in the mitochondria.
It is the first step of respiration.It is the second step of respiration.
Glucose is broken down to form 2 molecules of puruvate. Water and carbon dioxide are formed from pyruvate.
It results in the liberation of 2 ATP and 2 NADH.Two molecules of acetyl Co-A oxidize to give 6 molecules of NADH and 2 molecules of FADH24.
It is not connected with oxidative phosphorylation.It is connected with oxidative phosphorylation.
