1. The eye defect in which a person can see distant objects clearly but is unable to see nearby objects distinctly is called Hypermetropia or farsightedness.1. As a person gets older, the ciliary muscles holding the eye lens weaken, and the lens loses some of its elasticity. The near point gradually recedes away. This defect is called Presbyopia.
2. It is caused due to contraction in the size of the eyeball. The eyeball becomes too small. 2. The eyeball has a normal size. It does not contract.
3. No effect on ciliary muscles.3. This causes due to the gradual weakening of the ciliary muscles.
4. It can affect young as well as old people.4. This defect is most common in old people.
