In plants, separate respiratory organs are absent. In animals, specific respiratory organs are generally present.
Respiration takes place through direct diffusion of gases to and from the cells. In animals, the gases are first transported through the red blood cells or the plasma to the cells and then given to the cells.
In plants, less heat is produced during the process of respiration. In animals, the amount of heat produced is more.
