Question

Distinguish between regular and diffused reflection. Does diffused refection mean the failure of the laws of reflection?

Solution

Reflection is what allows us to see thing.Light from a source such a light globe of the sun, strikes the objects and is reflected back to our eyes Reflection from a polished surface is called regular reflection.

In diffused reflection, the reflected rays are not parallel to each other for parallel incident rays. This happens because of the presence of irregular microscopic surfaces not due to the failure of the laws of reflection. Hence, parallel incident rays reflect in different directions.
