Regular ReflectionIrregular reflection
Regular reflection occurs on a smooth surface such as a mirror.Irregular reflection occurs on rough surfaces such as stone.
When parallel light rays fall on a smooth surface the reflected rays remain parallel to each other in such a reflection.When parallel light rays fall on a rough surface the reflected rays do not remain parallel.
In regular reflection, the reflected rays have a definite direction.In irregular reflection, the reflected rays do not have any definite direction.
Formation of an image, in regular reflection, is possible.Image may not form, or in the case of image formation, it is blurred.
