Shoot apical meristem

• Shoot apical meristem is the region in the developing shoot containing meristematic cells.
• It controls the development of the over the ground part of the plant, which is responsible for the development of the plant's underlying roots
• The shoot apical meristem contains multi potent undifferentiated cells and produces primordia that form into all the above ground organs of a plant.

Root apical meristem

• The root apical meristem is a locale of growth tissue close to the tip of each root.
• It is in charge of the growth of the plant's underlying root.
• The apical meristem, also called the growing tip, is an undifferentiated meristematic tissue found in the buds and growing tip of roots in plants.
