Divide p(x) by g(x) in the following case and verify division algorithm.
p(x)=x31;g(x)=x1

The division of p(x)=x31 by g(x)=x1 is as shown above:

Now we know that the division algorithm states that:
Dividend=(Divisor×quotient)+Remainder

Here, the dividend is x31, the divisor is x1, the quotient is x2+x+1 and the remainder is 0, therefore,

x31=[(x1)(x2+x+1)]+0x31=[x(x2+x+1)1(x2+x+1)]+0x31=x3+x2+xx2x1+0x31=x3+x2x2+xx1x31=x31

Hence, the division algorithm is verified.
