The correct option is B template strand
The enzyme required for copying genetic information from one strand of DNA into RNA (transcription) is DNA dependent RNA polymerase.
DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyses the polymerisation in only one direction, that is, 5'→3', using the DNA strand that has the polarity 3'→5' and this strand is referred to as template strand.
The template strand of DNA and the newly transcribed RNA are complementary in nature. That’s why their nitrogenous bases do not match and hence the template strand can be considered as the non-coding strand or antisense strand.
Coding strand is a 5’ → 3’ strand of DNA. It is called coding strand because its nitrogenous base sequences are the same as transcribed RNA, except for uracil. In place of uracil of RNA, the coding strand of DNA has thymine.
Hence, option B is correct.
