Solution

The correct option is B False
  • Nucleoid is the term used for the naked DNA in the cytoplasm of prokaryotes as it is not present in a membrane-bound nucleus.
  • In eukaryotes, DNA is associated with histone proteins. Histones are the positively charged proteins which are rich in basic amino acids lysine and arginine. There are five types of histones H1, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. Two each of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 histones form the histone octamer around which negatively charged DNA is wrapped. This forms the structure called as a nucleosome.
Hence, the statement given in the question is incorrect.
So, the correct answer is 'False'.
