  1. The two frontal or anterior limbs are called forelimbs.
  2. For example, the forelimbs of bats are modified wings.

Aves:

  1. It is the taxonomic name for birds.
  2. Birds are warm-blooded vertebrates and are characterised by having features such as pneumatic bones and beaks without teeth.
  3. Most birds like sparrows, ducks, kites, pigeons etc. can undergo flight but some birds like penguins, kiwi, ostrich etc. are unable to fly.
  4. All Aves have two frontal forelimbs that are modified into wings.
  5. The forelimb is surrounded by a patagium that connects it with its rear legs and has feathers that assist them in flight.
  6. The wings have a hollow pneumatic bone structure.
  7. In flightless birds like kiwi, the forelimbs have wings but are not meant for flight.
