Open in App
Solution

Four-chambered heart in crocodiles:

  1. The heart of crocodiles is four-chambered.
  2. It resembles the heart of birds and mammals, unlike other reptiles.
  3. Here, blood is sent to the lungs for the exchange of gas from the right ventricle.
  4. The left ventricle pumps blood into the body.
  5. Hence, the two types of blood do not get mixed up within the heart.
  6. Blood is mixed as soon as it leaves the heart through a valve placed in between the right and left aorta.
