Do Eukaryotic cells have fimbriae?

Open in App
Solution

Fimbriae

  1. They are projections that capture an ovum from the ovary and push it down to the fallopian tube in the form of fingers.
  2. The ovary is connected to the fimbriae.
  3. The fimbriae are the tissue fringes that run from the ostium of the uterine tube to the ovary.
  4. The cilia of the fimbriae wash the ova inside the fallopian tube during ovulation when an egg from the ovary releases into the peritoneal cavity.
  5. Fimbriae can be found in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
