Solution

Intelligence Quotient (IQ):

  1. A trait that is influenced by two or more genes, such as height or skin tone, is referred to as a polygenic trait.
  2. A total score obtained from a series of standardized tests or subtests created to gauge human intelligence is known as an intelligence quotient (IQ).
  3. Both environmental and genetic variables affect intelligence.
  4. Intelligence, like many other elements of human behavior and cognition, is a complex trait both inherited and influenced by environmental variables.
  5. According to researchers, several genes (over 500) have been discovered that affect IQ. Consequently, it is a polygenic trait.
  6. As per twin studies, genes may be responsible for 50-80% of the variation in general intelligence between individuals.
