Question

Do KE remains constant in uniform circulation motion

Open in App
Solution

Kinetic energy formula is K.E. = 1/2 m v2
In uniform circular motion velocity magnitude remain constant only direction will change and in kinetic energy calculation we will consider only magnitude of velocity so kinetic enegy will remain constant in unifrom circular motion.

Other factor which will remain constant in uniform circulatr motion.

Angular velocity and angular acceleration remain constant (fixed at zero when there is constant angular velocity). That's the meaning of "uniform".

The tangential velocity vector is continuously changing direction and, consequently, there is a linear acceleration due to the directional changes. The direction of the linear acceleration is always centripetal, inward on the radius of rotation. Which means, although its magnitude is not changing, its direction is as the radius rotates around the axis of turn.
