Do liquids conduct electricity? How can we check for the conductivity of liquids using a tester?
Liquids can conduct electricity when ions are present. e.g. salt water conducts electricity.
We can set up a simple circuit using a cell, a bulb, a tester and the given liquid in series. When the liquid between the two ends of the tester allows the electric current to pass, the circuit of the tester becomes complete. The current flows in the circuit and the bulb glows. When the liquid does not allow the electric current to pass, the circuit is not complete and the bulb does not glow.
