Question

Do metals have the ability to flow or not?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

The property of being able to flow is generally exhibited by Gases & Liquids. And as we know that, metals usually exist in solid form (except Mercury). Hence, in solid form, the ability to flow is not observed.

However, the metals can flow if they are present in a molten (liquid) form. Also, Mercury metal can be considered as the only metal which can easily flow at the standard room temperature.
