Question

Do plants breathe?

Open in App
Solution

Plants are living organisms and hence, they breathe just like humans and other animals. They take in oxygen and release out carbon dioxide. Respiration should not be confused with photosynthesis. Plants take in very less amount of oxygen for respiration as compared to the amount they release during photosynthesis.
