Open in App
Solution

Infection of viroids:

  1. Small, circular, single-stranded RNAs called viroids are contagious diseases.
  2. Only plants are known to be infected by viroids.
  3. They don't have a protein coating like viruses do.
  4. All known viroids are angiosperm residents, and the majority of them cause diseases with vastly varying economic value to people.
  5. Thus, viroids do not infect animals.
