Do you agree that agriculture is an activity of an unorganised sector in India? Give any four points.

In the rural areas, the unorganised sector mostly comprises of landless agricultural labourers, small and marginal farmers, sharecroppers.Nearly 80 per cent of rural households in India are in small and marginal farmer category. It is an activity of an unorganised sector due to the following reasons:

i) No fixed working hours.

ii) No provident fund, gratuity.

iii) Job is low-paid and often not regular.

iv) Employment is not secure.
