Solution
The Supreme Court of India is the Apex Court of the Nation. It is the highest federal court and Court of Appeal.
Reason - The constitution of India has conferred upon the Supreme court very wide and extensive powers. It has various jurisdictions to dispense justice and exercises the power of judicial review (article 13) of the constitution to check the constitutionality of laws made by the legislature and administrative action. It has the power to declare such laws illegal if they are found violative of the Constitution.
