Types of nutrition in organisms:
  1. Depending on the type of food they eat, the animals are divided into three basic categories- herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.
  2. Herbivores: Animals which feed only on plants and plant products are called herbivores, like cow, goat, elephant, dear, etc.
  3. Carnivores: Animals which feed only on other animals are called carnivores, like lion, tiger, fox, etc.
  4. Omnivores: Animals which feed on both plants and animals are called omnivores, like crow, cat, dog, etc.

No, all living beings do not need same kind of food:

  1. The digestive capabilities of all the animals are different.
  2. Lion, a carnivore, do not has the enzymes to digest plant products.
  3. Similarly, cow, a herbivore, can not digest animal proteins.
  4. But human being, an omnivore, can digest both.
  5. Therefore, all living beings need the different kind of food.
