Solution

Dear student,
Rainwater is contaminated as it enters the atmosphere. Many toxic gases and pollutant are present in atmosphere. Rainwater may become acidic in presence of oxides of nitrogen and sulphur in air. As the rainwater runs down the roads and rooftops, it carries harmful substances. Acidic and contaminated rain water would cause water pollution. It would also be harmful for aquatic life. So, yes, rainwater should be treated before its discharge in water bodies.
