Question

Does a sphere shaped magnet has poles ?

Open in App
Solution

If you meant Earth poles, the south pole of the magnet is near the geographical North Pole. This is simply because we define the compass pole pointing north as the north pole, thus Earth must be opposite.

If you are referring to a spherically shaped magnet, the two poles can be anywhere on the surface or inside the magnet, all depending of how the magnet was designed.
