Open in App
Solution

Algae:

  1. Algae are chlorophyll-containing plant groups, photosynthetic, aquatic, nucleus-containing organisms that have multicellular structures.
  2. Algae are usually aquatic. They live in well-lighted areas as they are autotrophic.
  3. Examples- green algae, golden algae, kombu, etc.

Growth of algae in low light:

  1. The growth of algae in low-light areas is not efficient.
  2. Other aquatic plants compete with algae and hamper their growth when the intensity of light is low.
  3. Algae perform photosynthesis in presence of sunlight. So, low lights reduce algal growth.
  4. Minerals, water, and carbon dioxide are other requirements for algal growth.
