Question
Does ANP increase urine output?

Solution
Atrial Natriuretic peptide (ANP):
The atrial natriuretic peptide is a hormone that exerts a vasodilator effect on the kidneys and reduces the rate of tubular absorption of sodium.
This allows increased blood flow to the glomerulus to undergo ultrafiltration.
ANP stimulated diuresis and natriuresis by causing the afferent arteriole to vasodilate and contracts the efferent arteriole.
It increases the excretion of urinary sodium by inhibiting sodium reabsorption across the inner medullary collecting duct.
Due to the increased rates of diuresis and high GFR, there is increased urine excretion.
